Castelo de Vide
Located in the foothills of the São Mamede mountain, Castelo de Vide is protected to the west by the quartzite barrier of the São Paulo ridge. In a transition between plain and mountain, it has given rise to multiple habitats (olive groves, oak groves, pine forests and chestnut groves) that favour the occurrence of a great diversity of birds, with forest, agricultural and rock-dwelling habits. To the north is the Póvoa and Meadas Dam reservoir, where we can find species with aquatic habits.
