Our birdwatching tours mainly cover the lesser-known interior of Portugal, along the border. The deep valleys of the Côa, Águeda, Douro and Tagus rivers are an important nesting area for some Mediterranean birds. The most emblematic are birds of prey, notably Bonelli’s Eagle, the Golden Eagle, the Iberian Imperial Eagle, the Short-toed Snake Eagle, the Booted Eagle and the Black-winged Kite. This is also the realm of vultures. Three species can be observed here: the Egyptian Vulture, the Griffon Vulture, and the Black Vulture. Also representative of this territory are the endangered Black Stork, the Iberian Magpie, the Hoopoe, the Woodchat Shrike, the Bee-eater, the Black Wheatear, the Blue Rock Thrush, the Rock Thrush, the Golden Oriole, the Western Orphean Warbler, the Western Subalpine Warbler, among many others.
